On Sunday morning, one person died after a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 15.
The fatal incident took place shortly before 5 a.m. near the Camino Del Rey overpass. As per the initial information, a speeding vehicle went flying off the I-15, north of Escondido and plunged down an embankment.
According to a witness, a small vehicle was traveling at 120 mph when it veered from Lane No. 1 across the freeway and went off the road. Officials stated that one person may have been ejected from the vehicle after the accident. No other details are immediately available.
The crash remains under active investigation.
