1 dead, 2 injured in a two-vehicle collision on I-85 (Franklin County, GA)

One person lost their life and two others suffered injuries following a two-vehicle crash on I-85 in Franklin County.

Georgia State Patrol said that the box truck was going in the outside lane near Mile Marker 172 when it ran off the road and rear-ended the left side of the tractor trailer, which was stalled and parked in the southbound emergency lane.

On arrival, emergency crews declared the passenger in the box truck dead. The two other injured victims were taken to the hospital, but it is unknown at this time which vehicle was occupying the two victims. The authorities closed I-85 Southbound for a short period of time. The identities of the victims have not been revealed as of this moment.
