Two people were hurt in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash north of Reeds on Thursday evening, according to a preliminary report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. on FIR RD, about one mile north of Reeds in Jasper County, the Patrol said. Troopers with Troop D responded to the scene.
According to the Patrol's report, a 2026 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling east on FIR RD when it was involved in the crash. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Carterville, sustained moderate injuries, while a 23-year-old female occupant from Joplin suffered serious injuries. Both were transported for medical treatment, the Patrol said.
No other vehicles were reported involved, and there were no fatalities.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has not released additional details about how the crash occurred. This report will be updated as officials release more information.
