Traffic disrupted when a big rig rolled over after hitting two vehicles on 610 Loop (Houston, TX)

On early Wednesday, a multi-vehicle accident involving a big rig injured 1 person and caused major traffic delays on 610 Loop.

As per the initial information, the three-vehicle wreck took place at about 12:50 a.m. on northbound lanes of the freeway at Ship Channel Bridge. The Preliminary investigation revealed that an 18-wheeler hit two vehicles before colliding with the guardrail and rolling over. Reports further said that the two cars were possibly racing when the accident happened.

Both vehicles slowed down in the main lanes all of a sudden which caused the wreck. The driver of the big rig was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No one else was injured in the wreck. Later, heavy duty wreckers also arrived to clear the road.

The investigation of the crash is ongoing.
