One person killed after a single-vehicle accident on the North Loop (Houston, TX)

One person was killed following a traffic accident Friday night on the North Loop.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place near Highway 290. The early reports showed that the driver was northbound near the 290 connector when, for unknown reasons, they lost control of the vehicle and slammed into some barrel dividers.

The impact of the collision threw the driver 30 to 50 feet below before being hit by an oncoming vehicle. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
