On Sunday, a 19-year-old woman from San Jose died after a three-vehicle pile-up on Highway 101.
The incident involving three vehicles happened at around 3:10 a.m. on Highway 101. According to the preliminary reports, the woman was driving a red Honda that veered towards left and hit the center median of the freeway. The vehicle then swerved right into the number 2 lane, and came to rest.
After the first impact, two other vehicles crashed into the Honda. The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. Officials do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved in the deadly wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
