On Saturday afternoon, authorities reported a fiery crash on 91 Freeway near Main Street.
As per the initial information, the incident took place at about 4:00 p.m. on the eastbound 91 Riverside Freeway, west of Main Street. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle crashed into another vehicle from behind for reasons that are yet to be known. According to a bystander, the impact caused an explosion.
Medical personnel rushed to the crash scene to provide help. At this time, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the accident. Officials announced a Sig Alert and shut down the number one eastbound lane and the right toll lane as crews worked at the scene.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
