A tragic crash in Tangipahoa Parish on Monday claimed the life of a Hammond man, according to Louisiana State Police. The incident unfolded around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and South Baptist Road.
Initial investigations revealed that 24-year-old Victoria Reid was driving a Honda eastbound on U.S. Highway 190, disregarding a red light, when she collided with a Toyota driven by 45-year-old Eric Cook, who had a green light while travelling north on South Baptist Road.
Cook sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Reid suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital for treatment. The investigation into this fatal crash remains ongoing.
