According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a hit-and-run accident that took place in Bakersfield killed a 32-year-old man on Wednesday.
At around 9:29 p.m., a sedan traveling eastbound on 2500 block, Columbus Street, hit a 32-year-old man who was on the crosswalk northbound. The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver struck the man and then escaped the scene.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
