The Phoenix Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred in the area of 43rd Avenue and Bell Road at around 1:30 p.m.
According to the officials, an elderly man and a vehicle were involved in a collision. According to witnesses, the man had either fallen onto the road or was trying to cross at the time of the crash.
The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim to be 86-year-old Joseph Pavlics. The vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
