The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Madera County on Sunday morning. The accident occurred in an unincorporated area of the county, on Highway 145 at around 2:30 a.m.
According to the officials, a 1999 Harley-Davidson was headed west on the highway. The driver lost control while navigating a turn on the road. This caused it to go onto the north dirt shoulder before overturning and throwing off the driver.
The driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. The victim was wearing a helmet at the time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
