At least two people lost their lives following a head-on crash near Cleburne Friday afternoon.
Texas DPS said the incident took place just before 4 p.m. near Park Road 21 and County Road 1224, southwest of Cleburne.
According to Texas DPS, a maroon pickup was going behind a white pickup north on Park Road 21, when they reached an intersection. Authorities said the maroon pickup, for a strange reason, struck the back of the white pickup as it braked. Resultantly, the head-on crash triggered the white pickup to go into a center turning lane and partially into the southbound lane.
A black pickup moving southbound then collided head-on into the white pickup, causing the white pickup to swirl and burst into flame, authorities said.
Two passengers of the white pickup died at the scene. However, medics shifted the driver and another passenger to a hospital to treat injuries.
Medical staff admitted the driver of the black pickup to a hospital with injuries.
Texas DPS is carrying on an investigation into the crash. As of now, no other information is available.
