The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday. The officials confirmed that one person died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was identified as 22-year-old Paola Rojas Rondon.
Around 12:30 p.m., the crash happened in Nacogdoches County. A truck was travelling south on the road when a 2014 Hyundai Sonata travelling north reportedly made a U-turn in front of the truck and was struck on its passenger side. The truck then overturned.
The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hyundai’s two passengers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver and passenger of the truck tractor were both taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
