The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday morning in Stockton. The accident happened on Howard Rd, just west of Udine Rd at around 5:39 a.m.
A Harley Davidson rider was travelling eastbound on Howard Road while a grey Acura was travelling west. According to officials, the Acura crossed the double lines into the oncoming lane and struck the motorcyclist square in the face.
The motorcyclist was thrown into a field and incurred fatal injuries. He was declared dead at the scene, according to CHP.
Alcohol or drugs are not thought to have played a role in the collision. The fatal crash is still being investigated, and no one has been taken into custody.
