The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday evening. The accident happened on Highway 46 at around 7:14 p.m.
A Ford Explorer driven by a 37-year-old Hanford woman with a passenger was travelling east on Highway 46 as it approached the Highway 41 Interchange at the “Y” at an unknown speed.
Jesse Moore, 31, of Gilroy, was operating the second car and was travelling west on Highway 46 as he approached the “Y” interchange with Highway 41 at an unknown speed.
According to authorities, the Ford Explorer’s driver failed to signal to oncoming traffic for an unknown reason, and as a result, turned right into Moore’s car.
Moore was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors later declared him dead. Both the Ford Explorer’s female driver and her passenger suffered minor injuries.
Although the fatal crash is still under investigation, the CHP states that there is no current indication of impairment.
