The Carrollton Police Department reported a three-vehicle collision on Sunday. The accident occurred in the 2700 block of Northbound Interstate Highway 35E just after 5:30 a.m.
According to the officials, one vehicle was driving the wrong way – it was heading north in the southbound lanes. This caused it to crash into two other vehicles.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle along with the driver of one of the two other vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the third vehicle was taken to a hospital in reportedly stable condition. Their identities are not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. There are no other details available at this time.
