February 6, 2023 / Source: KOB

The Albuquerque Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday night. The accident happened at San Mateo Boulevard and central avenue at around 9:30 p.m.

Police found evidence of a pedestrian being hit by a car in the street. According to APD, a waitress observed a male pedestrian crossing Central Avenue southward outside a crosswalk when a silver Chevy truck traveling east struck him. The car initially left the scene before coming back.

The identity of the deceased person has not been disclosed at this time.

They claim that the accident’s apparent cause at this time is a pedestrian error. At the moment, no charges are pending. Alcohol or speed doesn’t seem to have been a factor in the truck driver’s accident.

The fatal collision is investigated by the APD Motor unit.
