According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Idalou on Monday. The crash happened at the intersection at Hwy. 62/82 at around 9 a.m. 

According to the investigators, an unknown vehicle and a utility van were involved in the collision. The driver of the utility van traveling northbound tried to pull onto the roadway and drove in front of the unknown vehicle. 

20-year-old Hannah Nicole Hernandez was identified as the driver of the unknown vehicle who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead. 

According to the officials, it is unclear what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol were a factor involved. The accident is still being investigated by the authorities. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
