The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle accident on Friday.
The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 880 at Fruitvale Avenue. It was reported at around 2 a.m.
According to the officials, there was an overturned rig and two other vehicles involved in the accident. One of the vehicles was a black Infiniti.
The big rig collided with the Infiniti. The driver of the Infiniti had been checking their tire while standing outside of their car when it was hit by the big rig.
The drivers of both vehicles are reported to have incurred minor injuries.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
