The California Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday. 

The accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Mission Road off-ramp from Interstate 5. It was reported at around 11:24 a.m. 

According to the officials, a woman was walking east on Mission Road when she was crossing the road on the crosswalk. She was hit by a pickup truck. 

The pedestrian, identified only as a woman, was majorly injured and had to be rushed to a local hospital. 

The identity of the woman has not been disclosed. 

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene before the police could come. He is described to be a man between 30 and 50 years of age. The truck he was driving was described as an older model 80s to early 2000s red Ford F150 extended cab. 

There have been no further updates on the accident.
