The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle accident on Monday.
The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 70, north of Mescalero.
According to the officials, a Ford Ranger was driving down the highway when it went off the road and rolled. The passenger of the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Meriah Beltran-Pisana, was thrown from the vehicle.
The victim incurred critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle incurred only minor injuries and they were treated at a nearby hospital.
The fatal accident is still being investigated.
The police have confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
There are no other details available at the moment.
