According to the Georgia State Patrol, a fatal crash was reported in Rabun County.

Officials did not confirm the exact number of people who died due to the accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred on GA 15/US 441 at Johnson Avenue in Mountain City.

A 2003 Ford Focus and a 2013 Ford Explorer were involved in the wreck.

The Ford Focus was passing on a double yellow no-passing zone and struck the Explorer head-on.

The injured persons were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center immediately.

No other information pertaining to the wreck is currently available.

The crash remains under investigation by the GSP.

It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
