According to the Louisiana State Police, a fatal crash was reported on Friday in Luling.

Officials confirmed that one person died due to the accident.

Authorities stated that the collision occurred east on LA 18.

The deceased driver was identified as Dimitrius Titone.

Titone failed to merge into a curve while driving within the roadway, and lost control of the car.

The car then flipped and hit a tree.

Titone suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.

A passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was admitted to the hospital.

Alcohol is suspected to be one of the factors that led to the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the LSP.
