The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Ephrata on Tuesday morning.

Ford Ranger driven by 45-year-old Daniel A. Teigen of Soap Lake, Washington, was traveling north on Road B Northwest, near Road 18 at around 11 a.m.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, he lost control of the car on a canal bridge deck covered with ice.

Teigen’s car flipped over, whirled around, and finally came to rest against a utility pole.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials.

His 43-year-old sibling was with him in the vehicle and suffered from minor injuries.

He was taken to the Columbia Basin Hospital for treatment.

Further details regarding the fatal crash are currently not available.
