The Elk Grove Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Wednesday. 

The accident occurred near Hampton Oak and Canyon View drives after 7.15 a.m. 

A man was walking west on Hampton oak Drive when he was struck by a Nissan Altima.

Upon the arrival of the officials and the paramedics, the pedestrian was provided with first aid. He later succumbed to the injuries. 

The identity of the victim has not been disclosed by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of the family.   

The cause of the accident has not been revealed by the officials. 

After an initial investigation, speed or driver impairment was confirmed not to be factored in this fatal accident.
