Louisiana State Police Troop B reported a fatal crash that claimed a life. The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. on LA 611-1 near Iris Avenue in Metairie. 

The victim was identified as Delfino Sanchez-Fernandez, 34, of Houma. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that Sanchez-Fernandez was traveling east on River Road in a 2019 Ford F-150. For reasons unknown, the Ford left the roadway to the left and impacted a parked flatbed trailer on private property. 

Sanchez-Fernandez sustained fatal injuries from the crash and died at the scene. 

According to the officials, he was restrained during the crash. 

It is unclear if alcohol was a factor. A routine toxicology sample was obtained and sent for analysis. An investigation into the crash is under review.
