50-Year-Old Prentiss Bates Arrested After A Motor Vehicle Crash In Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)

Police are investigating an early Thursday morning motor vehicle crash that killed a passenger. 

The Las Vegas Metro police report that Prentiss Bates, 50, crossed over a raised median, collided with the windshield of a parked car, and killed its occupant. 

Bate was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee at a high rate of speed. He slammed into a Chevrolet Avalanche parked in the far right lane on Rancho Drive. 

The victim was taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries and died later. Baten was also taken to UMS for injuries. After his release from the hospital, he was arrested on DUI-related charges. 

Additional information regarding the crash is currently unavailable. An investigation into the crash is under review.
