According to the Oakland Police, a motor vehicle crash occurred in Oakland on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 580.
The crash happened on 35th Avenue and Brookdale Avenue.
The passenger in the vehicle was uninjured in the crash and the driver suffered minor injuries.
Later, the victims were taken to the hospital, in stable condition.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the car was hit by multiple bullets during the accident.
The identity of the suspect was not provided by Oakland Police.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
