police responded to a motor vehicle crash that killed a young woman early Sunday morning in Kalamazoo.
The crash happened on the 2700 block of West Michigan Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
The victim was identified as 21-year-old Kaylee Gansberg, from Lisle, Illinois.
She was taken to a nearby hospital after Police found her injured in the street.
Gansberg died later in the hospital.
The driver fled the scene and was later located at a home in the city. The driver was identified as a 22-year-old from Kalamazoo.
Alcohol was apparently a factor in his driving, according to the police.
Upon arrest, the suspect was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail.
