According to the police, a motor vehicle crash occurred on Sunday evening on Taft Highway.
The officials stated that two people were killed in the fatal crash.
The officials identified the victims as Sergio Andres Lopez Mata, 45, of Tijuana, Mexico and Edgar Eduardo Herrera Garcia, 35, of Bakersfield.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 33 and Petroleum Club Road when a car and a semi-truck collided with each other.
Both the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s release.
No additional information regarding the cause of the crash was released by the officials.
