According to the incident report, two people were taken to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 275 early Sunday morning.
Jared Lindsay, 26, was travelling to his Lake City home after drinking at a bar in Knoxville.
He was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 275. Lindsay struck two vehicles injuring two people.
The incident occurred at around 3 a.m.
According to the officials, two people from one of the vehicles were taken to Fort Sanders to be treated for their injuries.
Lindsay was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Officials found a handgun in Jared’s vehicle.
The officials have charged Jared with driving under the influence, crossing a highway divider and possession of a firearm while under the influence.
