Woman who lost her life in a fatal crash on Saturday has been recognized (Yelm, WA)

A 30-year-old woman who succumbed to life-threatening injuries on Saturday in a wreck near Yelm has been named.

Sally C. Rouse of Puyallup died at the scene of the crash, in the latest update coming from the Washington State Patrol, which cited information from the Pierce County Medical Examiner.

A 7-year-old girl in the same vehicle also passed away at an area hospital.

About 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Rouse and the girl were moving north on Eighth Avenue South, then stopped at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and state Route 702.

Officials state that the vehicle in an attempt to cross the highway was hit by a westbound vehicle. The two men in the westbound vehicle did not cope any injuries, as per the State Patrol.

The highway was cordoned off for more than three hours after the accident.
