6 people hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Bellevue (Bellevue, WA)

On early Saturday, six people suffered injuries following a crash in Bellevue involving a King County Metro bus.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle collision took place shortly after midnight near the intersection of Bel-Red Road Northeast and Northeast 24th Street. The preliminary reports showed that a driver, who officers suspected was intoxicated, was escaping from officers. As he was trying to flee, his vehicle ran into a Metro bus.

Five passengers were taken to the hospital with minimal injuries. The driver of the bus was also taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver who slammed into the bus was taken into custody for DUI. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
