1 person hospitalized after getting struck by a vehicle in south Austin (Austin, TX)

One person suffered injuries after falling off a scooter and being struck by a car overnight in south Austin.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of East River Side Dr. near the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail just before 2 a.m. after getting reports of a traffic collision. The early reports showed that one person fell off their scooter and then got struck by a car.

On arrival, emergency personnel rushed the victim to Dell Seton with serious, but not expected to be life threatening injuries. At this time, it is unknown if the car stayed at the scene or not after the collision. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
