17-year-old boy dead, 1 person hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision in Winnetka (Los Angeles, CA)

On Wednesday morning, a 17-year-old boy lost his life while two other people suffered injuries following a rollover crash in Winnetka.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place at approximately 9:15 a.m. along the 20100 block of West Parthenia Street. The early reports showed that one of the vehicles rolled over as a result of the accident and two people were pinned in the overturned vehicle.

The teen, who was one of the victims trapped in the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The other pinned victim was rescued and transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The third person received only minor injuries and did not need to be hospitalized.

Lanes were shut down in the area as crews worked at the scene. Drivers were advised to avoid the intersection and expect delays. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
