Authorities identified 56-year-old Annette Rush as the woman who lost her life following a crash that also injured two other people in Coweta County.
As per the initial information, the fatal traffic accident took place on Highway 54 and Johnson Road. The early reports showed that officers were patrolling Highway 54 and Johnson Road when they found a vehicle that had allegedly failed to dim its headlights.
A traffic stop was initiated at which point the driver sped off. The driver later identified as a 14-year-old boy, reached speeds over 130 miles per hour. The officers lost sight of the car and began asking people in the area if they had seen the driver. One resident informed them that they saw a vehicle smash into their neighbor’s house.
After finding the crashed vehicle, officials learned that a family of three was inside and had suffered injuries. All three were alert when emergency responders arrived. However, the woman, identified as Annette Rush, later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Her family said that she had internal bleeding and a heart attack. The driver of the vehicle was detained and transported to a youth detention center. No other details are available.
