On Tuesday morning, three people suffered injuries following a multi-vehicle accident near Spring Lake.
As per the initial information, the three-vehicle wreck took place at about 6:45 a.m. on Cleveland Street near the intersection of Krueger Street in Spring Lake Township. The preliminary reports showed that a westbound Impala, driven by an 18-year-old Spring Lake man, went over the centerline and rammed head-on into a 2008 Dodge Avenger.
After that, a 2005 Ford Explorer crashed into the Avenger from behind. The 18-year-old Spring Lake man incurred minimal injuries but was not transported to the hospital. The driver of the Avenger, a 23-year-old Nunica woman, was shifted to the hospital for a leg injury. The driver of the Explorer, a 20-year-old Grand Rapids woman, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Cleveland Street was shut down until approximately 8 a.m. as crews worked at the scene, but it has since reopened. The identities of the injured victims have not been revealed at this time. No additional information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
