42-year-old man dead after a hit-and-run crash in Oakland (Oakland, CA)

On Thursday evening, a 42-year-old man lost his life following a bicycle accident in Oakland.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at about 8:30 p.m. on Jefferson Street and 14th Street. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle on Jefferson Street hit the bicyclist in a designated bike lane for undetermined reasons.

On arrival, emergency crews rushed the rider to a hospital, where he was later declared dead. The driver of the involved vehicle drove away from the scene after the collision. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No additional information has been provided.

The incident remains under active review.
