On Wednesday morning, a 37-year-old man lost his life while a 3-year-old boy suffered critical injuries following a DUI crash in Las Vegas.
As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place at the intersection of Centennial Parkway and Shaumber Road at about 4 a.m. The early reports showed that a grey 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading westbound on Centennial Parkway approaching Shaumber while a blue 2021 Volkswagen was going southbound on Shaumber.
At some point of time, the Jeep ran a stop sign and crashed into the Volkswagen. The front-right passenger, a 37-year-old man, suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. A 3-year-old boy suffered critical injuries and a 6-year-old girl received minimal injuries as a result of the accident.
The driver of the Jeep, later identified as 38-year-old Lisa Guerino, ran away from the scene on foot. She was later arrested at her home nearby. According to the officials, impairment is suspected to be involved in the collision. No further details were provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
