1 person dead after a wrong-way collision in Oakland (Oakland, CA)

On early Saturday morning, one person was killed following a wrong-way crash in Oakland.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place on eastbound Highway 24 just west of Claremont Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. The early reports showed that a driver was traveling west on eastbound Highway 24 when their vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle.

According to the officials, one person was killed as a result of the accident. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. A Sig alert was issued at the time, but was cancelled at 4:39 a.m. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
