Pedestrian dead after being hit by an AMTRAK train in Sorrento Valley (San Diego, CA)

One person died after getting hit by an AMTRAK train Sunday in Sorrento Valley.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the Sorrento Valley train station at 11170 Sorrento Valley Road at 1:05 a.m. in response to a pedestrian accident. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene by the responding officials.

The events that have led up to the crash remain unknown at this time. Deputies are investigating the incident, and the manner of death will be ascertained by the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other information is available.

The incident remains under investigation.
