Male pedestrian dead after a hit-and-run crash in northwest Houston (Houston, TX)

A man lost his life following an auto-pedestrian collision in northwest Houston.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place in the 18300 block of Clay Road. Responders found a man unresponsive in a ditch at around 2:08 a.m. The man suffered a head injury and was flown by Life Flight to the hospital, where he was later declared dead.

According to the officials, the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle heading westbound in the right lane. The driver of the vehicle hit the pedestrian and fled the scene without stopping to render aid. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under active review.
