31-year-old Kassie Leigh Wolin died after being hit by a vehicle that hydroplaned in East Austin (Austin, TX)

Officials identified 31-year-old Kassie Leigh Wolin as the woman who lost her life after two vehicles hydroplaned one after the other on April 25th in East Austin.

The fatal auto-pedestrian accident took place in the 500 block of Ed Bluestein Blvd. at about 3:16 p.m. The investigation reports showed that the driver of a Toyota Corolla, identified as Kassie Leigh Wolin, was heading down southbound on Ed Bluestein Blvd. when the vehicle hydroplaned, then collided with the inside guardrail, and finally came to a rest after that.

After the crash, Wolin stepped out of the Corolla when another vehicle, a Mercedes, hydroplaned, and hit Wolin. Wolin was pronounced at the scene by the officials. The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and refused treatment by emergency services. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
