On Wednesday morning, one person was killed after a vehicle smashed into trees along I-12 in Baton Rouge.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash was reported at about 8:30 a.m. on Interstate 12 East between Millerville Road and O’Neal Lane. The preliminary investigation showed that a vehicle crashed into a tree and got engulfed in flames.
The driver suffered major injuries and was declared dead just after emergency responders arrived. There was a huge plume of smoke at the scene after the accident. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.
The crash remains under investigation.
