Authorities identified 39-year-old Kyle Ripple, from Baton Rouge, as the man who lost his life after being hit by two vehicles on Tuesday in Ascension Parish.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place a little after 1 a.m. on I-10 westbound in Ascension Parish. The early reports showed that 39-year-old Kyle Ripple, driving a 2015 Honda Accord, was stopped in the right westbound lane of Interstate 10.
Ripple was standing on the right side of his vehicle, when a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, heading west came and struck the back of the Honda and Ripple. After being hit from the Tacoma, Ripple was then struck by a westbound 2017 Honda CRV.
Ripple suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The drivers of the Toyota Tacoma and Honda CRV were wearing seatbelts at that time and remained unharmed in the accident. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
