On Wednesday morning, one person died while another suffered injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Acton, north of Santa Clarita.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Sierra Highway near Santiago Road in Acton at about 4:50 a.m. after getting reports of a traffic collision. According to the first responders, all the victims were out of the vehicle, and one person was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

One person suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. All lanes on Sierra Highway have been reopened since 9 a.m. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
