One person was killed and another received life-threatening injuries after a wreck Thursday night in Maricopa.
As per the initial information, the three-vehicle accident took place at around 8 p.m. near State Route 347 and Papago Road. The early reports showed that one of the vehicles went through a stop sign along Papago Road and struck another vehicle heading southbound on SR 347 before flipping and colliding with a third vehicle going northbound on SR 347.
The passenger in the first vehicle that was hit was declared dead at the scene, while the driver of that vehicle was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. The suspected at-fault driver received medical aid at the scene before being detained and charged with manslaughter. No other information is available.
The wreck remains under review.
