Officials identified 21-year-old Nadia Tims, from New Orleans, as the woman who lost her life following a two-vehicle collision Friday night on Crescent City Connection.
The fatal car crash took place at about 10 p.m. on the Crescent City Connection bridge in the right-center lane of US 90B near Milepost No. 10.9 According to the investigation reports, Tims was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima east while a 2007 Ford Edge was also heading east just ahead of the Nissan. As both vehicles continued east, the front of the Nissan hit the back of the Ford.
Tims was not buckled up at the time of the collision and sustained serious injuries. On arrival, paramedics rushed her to a hospital where she later died of her injuries. The driver of the Ford received moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Impairment on the part of Tims is unclear at this time and routine toxicology results are pending. Impairment was not suspected for the driver of the Ford. No other details are available.
The crash remains under investigation.
