Male pedestrian critically injured after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist on I-35 Service Road (Austin, TX)

A man received critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning in southeast Austin.

As per the initial information, the hit-and-run accident took place at 3017 South I-35 service road northbound. The authorities actively responded to the scene after getting reports of a hit-and-run crash at about 4:32 a.m. On arrival, responders found the victim bleeding in the roadway in front of the Casulo Hotel and started performing life-saving measures.

The victim was then rushed to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The involved vehicle left the scene of the crash. No details are available about the suspect or the hit-and-run vehicle. No other information is available.

The incident remains under review.
