Officials identified 20-year-old Benjamin Wolfe Davis who died after a hit-and-run accident in Tucson (Tucson, AZ)

Officials identified 20-year-old Benjamin Wolfe Davis as the man who lost his life after a pedestrian crash Saturday while a suspect involved in the accident was taken into custody.

As per the initial information, the crews actively responded to an intersection near the University of Arizona campus after getting reports of a hit-and-run accident at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday. Police stated that an injured man died shortly after arriving at a Tucson hospital. He has been identified as 20-year-old Benjamin Wolfe Davis.

The preliminary reports showed that Davis was attempting to cross a street near a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a car and the driver left the scene. The reports further revealed that 33-year-old Andy Otero was booked into the Pima County Jail on suspicion of leaving the scene of a fatal collision. It was unknown Sunday if Otero has a lawyer yet who can speak on his behalf about the case. No other information is available.

An investigation is ongoing.
